On today's excursion, we wanted to come to one of Olympia's staple coffee shops. We came to the Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. in downtown. This is their first and largest store among their other locations around the city. It's known for the signature Olympia feel and has a vibe that locals enjoy. It is a common meet-up spot and has a good rap.
Latte
This time around, we had to get oat milk instead of coconut because they only offered oat and almond as dairy alternates. We were super satisfied with this latte. We gave it a 3 on sweetness because it wasn't overly bitter or sweet, it was right in between. This also attributed to the balance with a 4.5. Overall, we gave this latte a 5. It had really great balance and you could taste the milk, espresso and flavor pretty equally, with none of it being overbearing. This is the best latte we have had so far.
Co-Co Tonic
This drink was one of their specialty drinks and was composed of tonic water, coffee, and simple syrup. This drink is typically topped with a candied lemon slice, but because of allergies, we vetoed that. This drink got a 5 on creativity. We had never heard or even thought of making coffee carbonated, but it works. Overall, this drink was a 4.5. We found it to be very refreshing and it was a quality drink, no complaints. It's something we would have normally looked over, but highly recommend if you are looking for a refreshing coffee beverage.
The customer service was great, giving it a 5. We waited barely 2 minutes and there was no line upon arrival. The aesthetic of the shop was a 5 as well and their atmosphere was great. The space is super open and spacious with tables and outlets all around. There's free water and the overall design of the place is thought out well.
Overall, we gave this place an 8.5. The only things preventing it from being a 9 or 10, was the fact that it was over $10 for two small drinks and the lack of parking. Other than those two things, we loved our experience at Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. and the drinks backed up the experience.
Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoyed!
